You can take a distribution from your retirement account if you have a "distributable event."  To learn more about when you can take a distribution, see our article "When Can I Take a Distribution from My Account?"  Step-by-step instructions to request a distribution online are included below. If these options do not appear on your account, or if you encounter any issues submitting a request, please contact Participant Services at 1-800-878-5220.

REQUEST A DISTRIBUTION

  • Log into your MyPlanConnection.com account

  • Verify your personal data is up-to-date
    • If there are any changes in your personal data while actively employed or recently terminated, please contact the employer's Human Resources/Payroll department. This information is updated directly from payroll records and will override any changes you or Ameritas may make.

  • Select "Manage Account" on the upper-right side of your screen

  • Select "Request a Distribution"

  • Expand the dropdown menu beneath the appropriate column and select the desired distribution type. For example, if you have separated from service and wish to withdraw your full account balance, you may submit an Employment Termination request.
    • Click "What you should know" to view important details about your transaction. After you have read this information, click the "X" in the upper-right corner of the pop-up box. When you are ready to proceed, select "GET STARTED" and follow the prompts from there.

After you have submitted your distribution request and all requirements have been met, your distribution will be submitted to your Plan Administrator for approval.  We will notify you by email when your distribution has been approved, so please verify that your current email address is up to date, and monitor your inbox/spam folder for important communication.

Please be aware that we and your Plan Administrator take the security of your account very seriously and will take several steps to verify your identity.  Distribution and payment options may also be limited in order to ensure that your money does not fall into the wrong hands.  Please be patient since these security measures are put in place to protect your money.
